# Taraltec

> Taraltec is a science-led Indian company making safer water for rural communities. Its nature-inspired, chemical-free water disinfection technology eliminates the microbes behind diarrhoea, cholera, typhoid and dysentery, and already reaches +3 million people across India.

Taraltec's flagship product, the Maji:Taraltec® Reactor, is a palm-fitting, fully mechanical device that retrofits into India Mark II/III borewell hand pumps as a one-time fitting onto the riser pipe. Nature-inspired, it uses cavitation drawn from the snapping shrimp to eliminate +99% of waterborne microbes at the point of pumping, with no chemicals, consumables or filters. It is fitted once by a local plumber in under an hour and works for the life of the pump.

Taraltec partners with CSR teams, Foundations and Government bodies to fund and scale safer-water programmes across rural India. The company's work is aligned to UN Sustainable Development Goals 6 (clean water and sanitation) and 3 (good health and well-being).
